The Role: What You Will Do
As an Engineering Clerk Maintenance Support, you will provide vital administrative and coordination assistance to Maintenance Area Managers and their teams. Your responsibilities will include:
- Coordinating daily administrative tasks such as scheduling, preparing meeting materials, taking minutes, and tracking action items.
- Managing stationery and PPE requests, including issuing items, monitoring stock, and keeping accurate records.
- Supporting documentation control processes, including Management of Change (MOC) and MOCA requirements.
- Maintaining electronic and physical maintenance documentation and ensuring compliance with audit standards.
- Handling overtime forms and ensuring approvals are properly processed.
- Assisting with preparations for inspections and audits, including RBI assessments, holistic reviews, and third-party audits.
- Creating maintenance reports, presentations, registers, and other compliance documentation
- Engaging with internal teams, external contractors, and support departments.
- Upholding high standards of safety, quality, and compliance through accurate administrative processes.
- Assisting with other Shutdown Turnaround Organisation (STO) administrative duties when necessary.
What Sasol Is Looking For
To qualify for this position, you should have:
- Matric / Grade 12 (administrative, business, or technical studies are advantageous).
- 3–5 years of administrative experience, ideally in maintenance, engineering, petrochemical, or industrial environments.
- Experience with documentation control processes (advantageous).
- Previous exposure to audits such as RBI or third-party assessments (preferred).
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office; SAP experience is a plus.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and time-management abilities.
- High attention to detail and the ability to work effectively in an operational, fast-paced environment.
